About

I always wanted to be a locksmith, so I bought the domain cybersecuritysmith.com. Why? Because I love the joke, and I've got opinions. This site is strictly opinion, humor, and satire. Seriousness will include links in the article, but don't expect much of that here.

Pure IT doesn't exist anymore — cybersecurity and compliance kicked the door down. We graduate more cyber professionals every year, yet the breaches never stop. So is that IT's fault, or cybersecurity's?

This site covers IT, cybersecurity, helpdesk fiascos, and the exec leadership that says "we've got your back" — right up until the first angry Slack message. Plus compliance with security frameworks, and whatever else I feel like posting. All of it told with sarcasm, humor, and satire, with the occasional real rant or technical deep-dive mixed in.

Bottom line: I think compliance and cyber are both necessary. I think our approach to them is FUBAR.

If that's not your thing, TikTok's calling.
